FIELD
MEETING

FIELD MEETING is a series of art forums pioneering new curatorial formats that merge performance, lecture, contemplation, discourse, and travel—creating immersive, cross-cultural encounters where artists, curators, thinkers, and spiritual practitioners engage in deep exchange and transformative collective experience. Organized as multi-day performative gatherings and hosted by leading institutions including Asia Society Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, each edition experiments with expansive ways of foregrounding the intangible, fluid, and often unseen dimensions of contemporary art.

It reimagines curation as a site of generative thought, where the boundaries between creator and audience dissolve. It privileges process and conceptual exploration over finished outcomes, inviting play as a vital thread woven through the creative journey. This approach cultivates a community rooted in mutual inspiration while resourcefully addressing challenges in exhibition-making, fundraising, education, research, and representation. It fosters collaboration between cultural leaders in the United States and Asia—initiatives that extend far beyond the creation and exhibition of art, aligning with what lies at the heart of artistic practice: experimentation, transformation, and consciousness.

The 7th edition of Asia Contemporary Art Forum’s (ACAF) evolving FIELD MEETING forum series is reimagined as a moving interdisciplinary gathering across the sacred landscapes and cities of Uzbekistan. A group of 20 artists, curators, scholars, musicians, philosophers, writers, and spiritual teachers from across various cities of the world will journey together, tracing a vibrational pathway through Khiva, Samarkand, Bukhara, and Tashkent. Anchored by visits to sacred sites that have, for centuries, stirred the imaginations of seekers and makers, our time together will be woven through meditations, dialogues, performative gestures, and healing rituals—offering space for deep individual reflection and powerful communal exchange.
