Michael Joo

FIELD MEETING | Take 4

November 11, 2016 | Hosted at The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York

Place as a Site of Inquiry

Acknowledging the absurdity of how we define a place’s identity when it has been overwritten over the course of generations by human “advancements” and political strife, Michael Joo shared his personal experiences of working in Sharjah, UAE and Limerick, Ireland. Merging art and technology, he demonstrated how sculptural intervention can make inaccessible histories andsimultaneous pluralistic viewpoints visible.
