The Pilgrimage Within
A facilitated conversation on September 1, 2025 | Khiva
During a warm afternoon lunch in Khiva, multidisciplinary artist Amina Ahmed facilitated a conversation on the meaning of pilgrimage. Resonating with her ongoing exploration of remembrance, transformation, and the landscapes of the heart, she considered pilgrimage as a shared practice across spiritual traditions—an outward journey that often mirrors an inner passage of reflection, healing, devotion, and change. As the conversation unfolded, an unexpected atmosphere of openness and emotional resonance emerged, with participants reflecting one by one on personal challenges that had shaped their lives and informed their understanding of themselves and of life itself as an ongoing pilgrimage. Through a shared exchange of stories and intentions, the gathering became an opportunity to contemplate what might be released, reclaimed, or newly discovered along the journey through Uzbekistan.
