The Subtlety of Self-Care
Therapeutic practices & offerings throughout Tashkent, Khiva, Bukhara, & Samarkand
Throughout FIELD MEETING: Thinking Pilgrimage, Lida Ahmady supported the group through therapeutic practices addressing fatigue, recalibrating energy, and supporting the embodied unfolding of the journey across Uzbekistan. Her contributions included morning movement sessions and guided treatments along the route, including auricular acupressure (ear seed therapy), Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), qigong-based exercises, and acupuncture. These created moments of pause within the itinerary, allowing participants to restore physical balance while tending to the emotional and energetic dimensions of the pilgrimage.
Working through traditional Chinese medicine and integrative somatic approaches, Ahmady’s practice attended not only to physical strain but also to the subtle accumulations of tension, intention, and release that emerged over the course of the journey. Her interventions supported states of grounding, openness, and renewal. In this way, her presence functioned as a continuous field of care throughout the pilgrimage, holding space for restoration, attunement, and integration of experience.
