Over the past four years, ACAF has supported dozens of artists and cultural workers—and their families—fleeing the crisis that followed the abrupt U.S. military withdrawal from Afghanistan, helping them rebuild their lives in Germany, France, Italy, the U.S., and safe zones in Pakistan and Iran. With funds raised through grassroots efforts, we covered urgent needs including visa and relocation costs, housing, and university enrollments—enabling many to resume their education and creative practices.

 

Now, as these individuals gain a measure of stability, we are entering a vital next phase: long-term career support through residencies, studio access, mentorships, and professional networks—locally and globally. Sustained funding is essential at this turning point. With support for the next two years, we can offer these artists the continuity, visibility, and opportunities they need to grow, contribute, and fully realize their extraordinary potential.
