Talking Peers | Take 3

Finding Silence, Echo, and Sounds in Traces

April 23rd, 2022

As part of Asia Contemporary Art Forum’s Talking Peers program, this performative workshop presented at Twelve Gates Arts by Yasi Alipour and Julia Santoli generated immersive and precarious environments with the use of voice, feedback, electronics, psycho-acoustics, and installation.

Presented in conjunction with Alipour’s solo exhibition, The Pleasure of Futile Cycles, this  interactive and improvisational workshop,  encouraged audiences to join Yasi and Julia in a process of folding, listening, and creating. Inspired by storytelling practices, the artists invited the participants to join them in opening  a space for expansive and open-ended dialogues. The material results of the workshop will become essential elements to Alipour and Santoli’s future collaborations and individual projects.
